Week 3, Day 1:

This morning we welcomed A LOT of students into our school. So many that we now have another teacher here!

Welcome Raquel!

We also experienced a WEEKEND MIRACLE! Our avid blog readers may remember the gardening that took place at the start of Week 1. Its been a tense fortnight and many hopes were lost, but FINALLY, we have a seedling.

Thanks to Dinara's persistent watering and the lovely summer weather we've had, we have growth!

After a morning of English lessons, the students started their afternoon activities. Jane's class went on a walk around to local area taking note of the different shops and restaurants they encountered.

The other three classes stayed in school and created some masterpieces in an arts and crafts activity.

Some chose to make jewellery; necklaces, bracelets and headdresses. Others chose to construct robots and flying machines!

We then had some fabulous presentations to end our day. The classes who stayed at school presented what they had made during their afternoon activity.

The girls presented their beautiful jewellery, explaining what each piece was and who they made it for.

The others presented their robots and flying machines:

We had big robots and small robots.

We had flying robots...

And funny robots that performed all kinds of tasks, even homework!

A huge well done to everyone today for a successful start to Week 3 at Queen's Gate. We can't wait for tomorrow!

A special congratulations must go to Raha who, when asked by Kathy, looked after one of our new students all day. Raha took Victoria under her wing and showed her the ropes! We we were so proud she earned herself a SILVER wristband!

WELL DONE RAHA!
