Week 3, Day 4:

We started our day with the morning English lessons!

Raquel's class were learning directions today. They focused on an airport scenario so they could practice using the vocabulary to describe how to get to different shops.

After, they started making their Out of this World costumes for the presentations. We can't wait to see the finished articles and the presentation tomorrow!

Helena's class were working on the past tense today in class. They watched a clip of Mr Bean and then used their new knowledge of the past continuous tense to describe what they had seen.

As you can see, they were concentrating very well and working hard!

Elisabete's class focused on statements using 'it depends'. They started the day by writing sentences using these words. Martino wrote and answer to this question. 'Is it important to marry someone you love?'...'It depends if they love you back'.

Then they made some storyboards. First, they created a story using some random photographs and pairing them with captions.

Then they used photos that have been taken from the blog to design a storyboard. They created some very imaginative stories!

Jane's class were making avatars today. They designed a character profile with a description of their avatar including name, age, height, weight, interests etc. Some avatars were 236 years old, some weighed only 20kg and one was only 10cm tall.

In the afternoon, the students took part in some great activities.

Elisabete's class,  Helena's class and Raquel's class all joined together to watch Madagascar.

They had to answer some comprehension questions about what they saw during the film and there was a prize for the person with the most correct answers.

Then, inspired by the movie, and Discovery Summer Shrewsbury, they created some incredible hand paintings of different creatures. They looked at these examples and then painted there own based on the animals they saw in Madagascar 2.

They spent a long time preparing their artwork.

How do you think the finished results compare to the examples?

We would like to say a big thank you to Elisa Juncosa and Activity Leader from DS Shrewsbury who gave us all the information and guidance we needed for this activity.

THANKS ELISA!

Jane's class made board games this afternoon. They were very imaginative and came up with some really cool game ideas such as Island Hop.

Wristbands were won today by Dorka, Giuseppe, Denis and Paula, WELL DONE!
