Our visit to the Victoria and Albert Museum.

Discovery summer were looking at theatre and performance in the museum this week.
The youngest children tried on some costumes.

We all really enjoyed seeing the costumes from the Lion King. There were also lots of costumes and headdresses from various plays, operas and musicals.

Sofia was looking at how prosceniums are lit from different angles to show up certain characters during a performance.

We saw lots of set design models from different productions.

We learnt that performances can take place anywhere. This is a set design from the opera Peter Grimes which was performed on the beach in Suffolk.

Stage designs from the Olympic 2012 closing ceremony.
