Mid-Week Fun at Queen's Gate

Despite the typical London weather we have had a great fun filled day at Discovery Summer Queen's Gate. In the morning the students were busy in their English lessons where they are working on projects on everything from the environment to space!

Story-time in Kingfisher!

Sharon's class hard at work!

This afternoon the programme included creating 3D-Postcards, an obstacle course, a tower building contest and map making! Our afternoon activities allow the students to not only gain team-work skills and get creative but also to speak lots of English and have some fun!

Meanwhile our teens were enjoying the view from the Shard! Have a read below of a blog-post written by the students themselves reflecting on their trip today.

"Today we went to the Shard. It was great going up there because we had a birds eye view of the whole city. From the top we could see Tower Bridge, London Eye, the Tower of London and Shakespeare's Globe. The telescope helped up to get more information about the buildings that we saw. On the top floor we could try out virtual-glasses. They are a new technology which allows you to feel like you are in a whole other place. The top of Shard resembles pieces of broken glass. We could see the clouds moving around us and the wind in our faces."
