Last week our teens put their skills to the test and worked together in teams to build some interesting and delicious towers! Have a read of the blog post they wrote during the afternoon.
Our spaghetti towers!
This
afternoon, we had a competition. To win this competition we had to
create the tallest spaghetti tower we could in 30 minutes. We had to
build the towers using only marshmallows and spaghetti. We built four
towers, one for each team.
Before we started, we made a blueprint. We drew beautiful towers that we couldn’t build.
It
was harder than we thought. The marshmallows were too sticky and the
spaghetti was too brittle. For some of us, it was difficult to make a
base.
In
the end, some towers failed. However, some of them were tall and
successful. The tallest tower was 60cm in height. The runner-up was 23cm
tall.
It was a cool new experience! We tried our best. Not everything is as easy as it looks.
